For me cameras are all about how they help me create my vision, it’s a tool, a means to an end, and if the ends justifies the means, then in this case, the Ricoh GR, then it so worth it. Today was a relatively cloudy day and for no other reason than I just felt like it, I decided to shoot with one of the GR’s very customizable effects ― Cross Process, here’s a sample. I adjusted the settings in camera and this is the end result with some clarity and sharpening done in Lightroom.  I’ll have a gallery in the next few days. Actually, this is just one of my favorite images already. I’ll be printing it soon. Doesn’t it look like a painting?

Hello Jorge, how do you tweak in lightroom and at the same time apply the filter in-camera? Becouse the only way i seem to find to get the cross proccessed (or any other effect) is in a jpeg form, becouse in raw it’s always the raw (duh) photograph and not cross proccessed. Thanks!

I like it! Is it a picture of a shadow of an actual person? I’m surprised how flat the person looks. Cool effect…
How is the focus speed and color of the GR so far…? I’m curious because those are the few nitpicks that people have mentioned about the GR. Are your color pics processed minimally or mostly jpegs? Thanks!

    • Its a mural on a wall of a Jazz Man. Focus speed in good! All my images have been processed from RAW except this one which was a jpeg. As far as processing very minimal with a slight s-curve, sharpening, clarity and that’s about it. Cheers
